RESPONSIBILITIES: OPERATIONS WITH AND AROUND HELICOPTERS

Graduates will learn the ins and outs of working with helicopters, including basic operations, special hazards, requirements for remote helipads, refueling, and landing protocols. Participants will also be made aware of their critical role in ensuring a safe and successful mission, both for those on the ground and those in the air.

COMMUNICATIONS: LET’S TALK

In external-load operations, the pilot often relies on communication with the ground crew. Graduates will learn hand signals for directing the pilot, as well as how to provide verbal directions. Proper communication can make all the difference when it comes to talking in a pilot with a load or alerting the pilot to potential hazards.
