Comprehensive Long Line Program
Volo Mission offers comprehensive, best-in-class helicopter long line vertical reference courses for pilots. We emphasize the building of strong foundational skills, as well as the practice and repetition necessary to solidify these skills.
Ground Crew Training
From helicopter basics to critical communications skills, Volo Mission’s Ground Crew training course covers everything you need to know to succeed in this extremely important and rewarding job.
Precision Construction
The precision construction training is specifically designed for industry long line pilots to further their skill set in order to move into precision and construction work.
Job Prep / Assessment
The Job Prep or Assessment is designed for long line pilots who are preparing for skills and knowledge demonstration, or companies that want to assess the level of knowledge and skills of pilots pertaining to external load operations.
Recurrent Training
Even experienced pilots can derive substantial benefits from taking refresher courses. Volo Mission’s comprehensive, practice-intensive Recurrent Training course allows pilots to enhance their knowledge and continue to sharpen their skills.
Basic and Advanced Aerial Firefighting Principles
Content is concentrated on the specific training needed for pilots who are experienced in the utility and fire sector who need extended training to enhance their external load/fire fighting missions.
ADDITIONAL COURSE DETAILS
Volo Mission provides vertical reference/long-line training primarily in the R44 helicopter; however, additional helicopters such as the Bell 407, MD500, Bell 206, H120, AS350, and H130 may be an option depending on location and availability.
Volo Mission also accommodates clients who prefer to train in their aircraft to support and supplement corporate in-house aviation training departments. Or, if the client prefers, we can train onsite at the client’s location.
For individuals registered for the Texas course that may be flying a personal aircraft, Volo Mission provides overnight parking on-site or a nearby hangar located at the Sulphur Springs Municipal Airport [KSLR] that offers exceptional business and aviation services. Canada also offers overnight customer parking.
Once a course start date is confirmed, a deposit will be required to hold your spot in the course.
Payments are non-refundable; however, the deposit/payment can be transferred to a future training course within 18 months of the original date of scheduled training.

The Ranch – Campbell, Texas
Located in the heart and soul of Texas, the Volo Mission Training Facility encompasses 100-acres dedicated to vertical reference/long line training featuring a diverse set of challenging exercises.
Onsite accommodations are conveniently located near Volo Mission’s External Load Training Course area. Clients will find comfort in the newly renovated Farm House, fully furnished with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a full kitchen. The Farm House is equipped with Smart TV’s in each room, WiFi access, a washer/dryer, and access to common areas, including an outdoor furnished patio and fire pit, all with a
view of a lovely pond.
The Quarry – North Bay, Ontario
Located in beautiful North Bay, Ontario, Volo Mission – Canada is located within minutes of heavily forested land and a large quarry with an assortment of challenging exercises. Local hotels are within a five-minute drive to Volo Mission Canada’s base operations and less than ten minutes to The Quarry Training Site.
Both, The Ranch and The Quarry are ideal locations for long line training, and each provides its own set of challenges.
